Abstract
Russia’s invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, had profound implications for regional stability and international relations. In response to Russia’s aggressive actions, the European Union (EU) quickly implemented a series of economic sanctions against Russia. This paper sets out to explore the context, objectives, effectiveness and implications of the economic sanctions imposed by the EU on Russia in the context of the invasion.
